Marci McAdam TOS 2024
Below you can read & review my term of service, updated August 2024. If you have any questions or concerns regarding information seen here please feel free to reach out to me via one of the contact methods available in the website footer.
Payments are accepted in USD through PayPal. Payments must be made before you can be added to my commission queue. I accept payments in instalments, but full payment must be made before I begin your commission.
Refunds are only offered if I have not started on your commission.
Please make every effort to include all information about your character and commission in advance. It’s very difficult to keep track of add-on information that extends over a period of days or weeks. Point form is best.
When I begin your commission I will send you a sketch for approval. You have the opportunity to look over the sketch to see if I’ve got all of your character markings correct (please check carefully; after I ink the piece it can no longer be changed). I can make minor corrections at this stage, but redraws will be an additional fee, unless the mistake is mine. Note: I generally do NOT do pencil sketches for take-home badges from a convention.
A note on traditional media: it is not digital. Some digital colours are impossible to match with traditional media, and I can only do a best match. If your character is a shade of brown, (for example) please help me out by being as specific as you can (a picture is best).
Privacy: If you want your commission to be private you MUST let me know up front, whether you’re at a convention or I take your commission by email, or it will have a risk of being posted. I am not to be held responsible for posting a commission if you do not write specifically on the form that it is to be private or your art is to be kept anonymous. If your commission is an 8”x10” I will charge an additional fee for the piece to be private as I make prints of these pieces.
I reserve the right to reuse all completed badges and commissions for promotional material, art collections in books, portfolios that include the original PSD for profit and educational purposes, and resell copies such as prints, hi res pngs and other merchandise material. I am not selling the rights to your piece or characters; I will be selling copies of the image. If you DO NOT want your piece to be included in any resale or promotional material, you MUST say so (charges may apply if your piece is 8”x10” or larger).
You MAY NOT make prints, stickers or other merchandise of your commission for sale. You MAY make stickers or other merchandise for your private use only (“for fun”). Promotional prints/merchandise for an event or personal promotion (for a business or freelance endeavour) qualify as a commercial project, and are subject to an additional cost.
I am available for commercial projects (such as logos, website graphics, etc), in which case you retain all rights to the artwork. This type of artwork has a higher price than private commissions.
You are allowed to edit your digital commissions (Telegram stickers, digital badges) after completion. You MUST write that you have edited the piece and link to the original in your posting. And please let me know 🙂
I generally answer emails only during the week and will usually answer your email within a few days. If you haven’t heard from me, it’s alright to follow up. If you are in my commission queue, please don’t continually email me to “check up”. I do my best to give a good time estimate at the beginning, but sometimes my schedule fluctuates due to urgent commercial projects or to circumstances beyond my control.
